Big Foot NW Construction

Bigfoot NW Construction – Bigfoot is literally our neighbor! Adam and Megan reached out to Vector Bookkeeping because they needed help catching up on their books and getting their accounting systems on track.

Bigfoot NW charges their clients on a “Cost Plus” system. This is a system where they have an agreement with their client that they will manage and complete a construction project and charge their client a fixed percentage over their cost to complete the project.

During our process of cleaning up the books to catch them up it became immediately obvious to the Vector staff that Bigfoot did not have a process to ensure all client costs were tracked and billed back to the client.

As you can imagine, this is a very big issue for any company that uses a billable business model!

We worked over the next several months to design and implement a foolproof system to catch all billable items and assign them to a client for invoicing.

Today we can proudly say Bigfoot no longer misses billable items for any project. We just celebrated their first year not missing a single item.

In cases like the above, we like to say we pay for ourselves. I think we can say with certainty that the money we have saved from lost billables has paid for the cost of our services many times over. Not only does Bigfoot get essentially free accounting, we are now a profit center for them, not a necessary expense.

Stay Awhile

Stay Awhile came to us with a mess on their hands. They had, unfortunately, contracted with a national bookkeeping service to help them catch up on their accounting. On initial review it was pretty obvious the previous service was in over their heads.

We see this all too often and it bothers us just as much as it bothers those who eventually find their way to us. One thing we pride ourselves on at Vector Bookkeeping, is that we will never over promise and under deliver. We know just how important and impactful bad accounting is to a small business and we take our clients’ livelihoods as seriously as if it were our own. After all, we see our clients’ success is our success. We build long term relationships with our clients that we expect to last for years and decades. We do not churn and burn clients with subpar services.

We completely redesigned Stay Awhile’s systems and processes while getting their mess cleaned up within a few short months. It was a big team effort by both the client and our team but the result was better than the client had imagined or expected.

Today we continue to help Stay Awhile design, implement and use their accounting systems and processes as their company gets ready for scale and growth.
